Rev. Dr. Howard A. Newman grew up as a Presbyterian in suburban Philadelphia. He was graduated from Maryville (Tennessee) College and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Several years later, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Seminary in Chicago. During his pastoral career, he served congregations in Ohio (2), Maryland (2), Pennsylvania (2), and Virginia (1), as either Head of Staff or as a Solo Pastor. Following retirement in 2012, he has served First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood as Parish Associate and, more recently, as one of the Interim Co-Pastors. He is happily married to his wife of 50+ years, Marilyn. They have three children and seven grandchildren. He and Marilyn live locally in the Village of Woodbury and spend their summer months in Marriottsville, Maryland.
